Beyond HTML Goodies demonstrates dozens of new and different features readers can add to their existing Web pages using HTML and JavaScript.
  • More than 1,000,000 monthly visitors to www.htmlgoodies.com have asked for these techniques and now they are gathered together for the first time.
  • Techniques are organized by function for easier reference.
  • More than 100,000 amateur webmasters have learned HTML and JavaScript from Joe Burns' previous Que books.
The book starts with simple text and image tips, such as adding a clock to a Web page or causing text to appear when the mouse moves over an image. It gradually builds to more complex tricks, including manipulating forms or working with cookies behind the scenes. Throughout the book, readers enjoy Joe's snappy style and "to the point" discussion of each "goody" in the book

Joe Burns, Ph.D., grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and still believes that someday the Indians will win the Series. Joe has made his living as a morning disc jockey, guitar instructor, Web designer, and finally as a university professor after receiving his Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Burns ran HTML Goodies (http://www.htmlgoodies.com) for almost eight years before walking away at the end of 2001. The site is still posted, but Joe has moved on to concentrate his efforts on teaching and writing. He currently lives in Hammond, Louisiana, with his wife Tammy and cats Chloe and Mardi. Weekdays are spent teaching undergraduate and graduate Communications and Web design classes at Southeastern Louisiana University. Weekends are spent either in the French Quarter or on his 24-foot cabin cruiser, Goodies.
