John McCrae, a doctor and poet who served in Europe during the First World War, composed "In Flanders Fields", one of the most enduring literary expressions of the horrors of war. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War, In Flanders Fields and Other Poems is being reissued.
