The aim of this book is to provide a detailed description of the structure and use of non-finite clauses in English. At the same time it provides an introduction into some basic syntactic tools for analysing phrases and clauses and can be helpful in achieving a solid understanding of the internal structure of English sentences. Although the perspective adopted is not entirely a contrastive one, the book also provides practical observations and comments about a number of contrasts between English non-finite structures and their Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian equivalents.
