Julia, a graduate student living in Boston, must navigate the intricacies of life while balancing the unfortunate side-effects of a rare condition which has her incurably addicted to. . . pain. Convinced she will never be free of this burdening addiction, she avidly avoids situations that remind her of a life of normalcy, which is far out of reach. That is, until she accidentally begins to fall in love. Julia's addiction slowly subsides, until things go awry and she must learn to deal with the relapse of her emotions as she faces the most painful lesson of all: heartbreak.
