Antoine de Saint-Exupéry was born on June 29, 1900, in Lyon, France. After finishing secondary school, he completed his military service in the Air Force. From that moment on, aviation became his great passion. After participating in World War II, he settled in New York, where he wrote the children's story The Little Prince (1943). This work, which made him universally famous, went on to become one of the most important literary phenomena in history and has now been translated into more than 250 languages.
