"Play of Passion" is book 9 in the Psy/Changeling series from Nalini Singh. The book is about Indigo and Andrew, both members of SnowDancer, the wolf pack.
Indigo is one of the highest members in the wolf pack; she is a strong and independent female. As a dominant one, it is not easy for her to find an equal partner, who accepts her and her dominance.
Andrew is the Tracker in the pack and though he has not the same rank as Indigo, he has the same attitudes in the case of dominance.
They known each other their whole life and there was always only friendship between them. Until this day, were Drew was kissing Indigo after a hunt. This moment full of play and passion is changing their world.
Love could be so easy, wouldnt there be the fight about acceptance each others dominance, wouldnt there be the war, who is coming from a different side and wouldnt there be Riaz, also a Lieutenant from Snow Dancer, who was several years away and once Indigos lover, who comes now back to the pack and to Indigos life.
Love could be so easy if
Nalini Singh creates this wonderful world again. Play of Passion is a whole different book in comparison to Bonds of Justice.
Play of Passion is a pack book; its all about Changeling, about the wolf pack.
Nalini shows us the world and the hierarchy in a wolf pack. We learn the SnowDancers known from a different side.
PoP is a book about love and friendship. It is full of humor, and there were situation with other characters from earlier books, they made you laugh and cry. We met a lot of characters from other books and the scenes were described with so much devotion, that the story pulls you into it and never let you go.
The tension begins on page 1 and ended only at the last page of the book.
Nalini has this gift, to write such heart breaking moments that she should deliver with each book a box of tissues. For example the scenes with Hawke and a certain female
The Psy has only a small part in the book. And though their part is small, the greater is their (evil) influence to the world. War is coming and perhaps not everyone will survive it.
Singh shows us the Changeling world full of light, play and passion. Because of this, the glimpses of dark were so much intensive and touching.
The book ends with a small cliffhanger, who will lead us straight into Hawkes book Kiss of Snow, who will be released in July 2011.
After each book of the Psy/Changeling series I thought, Nalini Singh can not top the earlier books. But she did it again. She has written such an amazing book, who took your breath away. She did a very good job. And the glimpses we get at the end about Archangels Consort I look forward to read the new book of the Guild Hunter seires in February/March 2011.
