Can Black Mothers Raise Our Sons?

More than 50 percent of black children are being raised by single mothers. This book examines the future of black boys in the hands of African American mothers, showing 27 mothers who are raising their male children successfully. Some of the issues addressed are manhood, masculinity, media, music, peer pressure, academic achievement, the lack of fathers, and goal setting.
