"As definitive as any book has been about a college athletic team."-Houston Chronicle
In 1977-78, the Duke University basketball team went from last place of the ACC to within seconds of winning the NCAA championship game. They were a team with only one senior, led by two freshman forwards, a sophomore center, and a junior guard. They were one of the great Cinderella teams of all time. An entire nation not only took them to heart, but expected a basketball dynasty.
It didn't quite work out that way. . . .
Forever's Team takes us inside a team of boys seemingly destined for success and follows them until, twelve years later, they are grown men-coping with dashed dreams, with truth, with life.
John Feinstein presents a dramatic profile of the team's coming-of-age-capturing not only the drama, the excitement, and the triumphs of college basketball, but also the uncertainty and adversity of life after athletic stardom.
