A medical student's bond with a remarkable dog leads her to difficult choices-and daring decisions-in this debut novel from the author and canine expert.
As a young pre-med student, Elizabeth Fletcher is excited to follow in her father's and grandfather's footsteps. But her life changes beyond imagining when she meets Damien, a pit bull with remarkable abilities who is the subject of lab research on campus. As Elizabeth is increasingly drawn into Damien's fate, she finds herself torn between her growing love and respect for him and her loyalty to her family and the medical profession.
With an uncanny ability to capture life from the point of view of a canine, Diane Jessup tells an extraordinary story of friendship and the sacrifices we must sometimes make in order to do what's right.
