Two year's ago Sinclair's debut, Seventy Times Seven, was very well received, but this, his second, is even better. The language is fierce and unwavering, and the two protagonists, both strong women, are beautifully drawn...There is a touch of the John Grisham in the muscular energy that drives it, but Sinclair is a bleaker writer who never teeters into sentimentality.
