Aus dem Vorwort: The object of the present work is to supply archologists and those interested in archology with more complete and accurate information than has hitherto been provided concerning the treasures of ancient sculpture, stored up in the galleries of Great Britain, the abundance and excellence of which appear to be but little known in detail, notwithstanding that they are admitted in general terms.
