I am from a big family and would have to thank my Uncle Tony for instilling my passion for reading and believing in me at a young age. When I had my own children I loved telling or reading stories to my gorgeous girls Tara Jade and Jasmin Rayne and the nieces and nephews as well. Most of the stories I made up out of my head so I decided to finally put one into writing so that they have something to remember me by and laugh about when I am gone. (Hache you are in charge of this)!
I included the paws for Conor our beautiful dog - the best dog in the world who loved and took care of the girls for 15 years. He would sit next to them (in the middle) being softly patted while I told the stories and I think he actually listened to them more than the girls.
The design for the 'Storytelling Series' came to me when I was reading to a group of children and thought it would be so much more effective if I had the text on the back cover so I didn't have to keep turning the book away from the children and lose their focus on the story. That's where the txt inside the paw print bubbles came into being and all of the books that follow in the 'Storytelling Series' will have this unique feature on the back cover. Children love to be included in the story and when they are animated they become a part of the story itself so the book doesn't ever have to leave the children's eyes and that makes the whole experience their own.
