Exiled to a world abandoned mid-terraforming, the immortal king Pietas is cut off from his empire and stripped of the structures that once enforced loyalty and law. Betrayal did not end his authority it removed its safeguards.

In the absence of institutions, survival depends on personal codes. Trust is provisional. Loyalty is conditional. The distinction between ally and enemy shifts with circumstance.

Bound to a human whose past actions made him an adversary, Pietas navigates a fragile alliance where power offers no protection, and honesty and honor carry real cost. Brotherhood, here, is not inherited. It is chosen under pressure and it is never guaranteed.
