The kid came out with something in his mouth. I widened my eyes when I saw it. Then I shifted my panicked eyes to the man who was now slowly closing in on me. Now I understood the look he was giving me. This kid was giving me the same look.

They were cannibals!

The kid swallowed the finger he had in his mouth and charged after me, hands stretched out as if asking me for a hug. The man saw the panic in my eyes and rushed me, too. I was up off the floor and running before the shriek left my mouth.
