Melynda grew up in a small town in rural Ontario, in a family that followed God. Her foundation in faith was anchored by disciplined church attendance, catechism classes, and eventually led her to her public profession of faith, where she promised to devote her life to God and be a living member in the church.
From a young age, Melynda has struggled with a variety of health conditions, which have tested her endurance not only spiritually but physically as well. Her faith grew with her as she moved through her life, from school to her first career to marriage. Through the joys and trials, she strived to understand God's Word more, often delving into how to fully apply scripture to lead a God fearing life.
With a love for writing, Melynda has been developing her skills in producing in-depth devotionals on her blog, NorMel House Devotions. As her love for delving into scripture deepened, she began writing devotions on various themes, from the Book of Titus to topics of friendship, and even Tuesday Tunes, where she commented on different Christian music.
As she began to focus on the letter of James, she saw the depths of the lessons the Lord had written in this letter for the church of all ages and the connection to many other passages in Scripture. She resolved to write this study companion to learn to live as a child of God by taking a deeper look at the letter of James.
