In 1748, Jonathan Edwards, inspired by a letter from Scotland, published An Humble Attempt to rally believers in united, extraordinary prayer. Fifty years later, after a period of spiritual distraction and decline, New England pastors republished the work, calling the church to take up Edward's proposal. What followed was a sixty-five year period of prayer that launched a Great Awakening.
This is not just an event in our history. It is an ancient well of revival we are called to re-dig. After decades of spiritual decline, the time has come to make an agreement--to visibly unite in extraordinary prayer for the revival of the church and advancement of the Kingdom.
This volume reintroduces God's people to the history of this idea and hands the torch to a new generation through the Revival Covenant.
"The inhabitants of one city will say to another, 'Let us go at once to seek the Lord.'" Zechariah 8:21
