Raymond Chandler (1888-1959) was an American novelist and screenwriter, who was one of the founders of the hardboiled school of detective fiction. His novels included The Big Sleep, The Lady in the Lake, and The Long Goodbye, all featuring detective Philip Marlowe. Robert B. Parker (1932-2010) was an American author of more than sixty novels. Most well-known for the novels that feature the private detective Spenser, Parker twice won the Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America.
