The Traitor's Manuscript

In the suffocating heat of a post-war summer, a local murder unearths an international conspiracy-and the truth could ignite a new world war.

July 1946. As Winnipeg stews beneath a relentless prairie heatwave, the bloody aftermath of the Dominion Day celebrations takes a chilling turn. When a quiet, hard-working stable hand is executed in the dead of night at the Polo Park Race Track, Winnipeg Police Detective Gabriel O'Malley catches what looks like a senseless local homicide.

The deeper Gabriel digs, the faster the routine case unravels. The victim lived like a pauper, yet secretly held the deeds to multiple properties and a small fortune tucked away in coffee tins. When the trail leads to a rare, foreign cigarette butt, a lethal and exotic military poison, and the sudden disappearance of a gifted ecclesiastical artist, Gabriel realizes he is no longer tracking a common criminal.

Now he must rely once again on his greatest partner: his wife, Olena Petrenko. Armed with fierce psychological insight, ancestral intuition, and deep ties to Winnipeg's resilient Ukrainian community, Olena helps navigate the dangerous shadows where police protocol fails. Together, they race against the clock to locate the targets and expose the truth before an iron curtain descends on the city.

The Traitor's Manuscriptis the gripping third installment in the Detective Gabriel O'Malley and Olena Petrenko historical mystery series. Rich in authentic 1940s atmosphere, gritty noir suspense, and heart-pounding intrigue, it is an unforgettable tale of sacrifice, survival, and the cost of freedom.

"A masterclass in atmospheric post-war noir. The sweltering streets of 1946 Winnipeg practically sweat off the page, and the unstoppable investigative partnership between Gabriel and Olena continues to be the beating heart of this thrilling series."

"Chilling, fast-paced, and deeply personal. With high-stakes espionage, authentic period detail, and pulse-pounding tension, The Traitor's Manuscript delivers the detective duo's most dangerous outing yet."
