A Series of Unfortunate Events #2: The Reptile Room

NOW A NETFLIX ORIGINAL SERIES

Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire are intelligent children. They are charming, and resourceful, and have pleasant facial features. Unfortunately, they are exceptionally unlucky.

In the first two books alone, the three youngsters encounter a greedy and repulsive villain, itchy clothing, a disastrous fire, a plot to steal their fortune, a lumpy bed, a deadly serpent, a large brass reading lamp, a long knife, and a terrible odour.

In the tradition of great storytellers, from Dickens to Dahl, comes an exquisitely dark comedy that is both literary and irreverent, hilarious and deftly crafted. Never before has a tale of three likeable and unfortunate children been quite so enchanting, or quite so uproariously unhappy.

• Gothic Fiction for Kids: Join the Baudelaire orphans-Violet, Klaus, and Sunny-as they navigate a world of dreadful circumstances, unfortunate events, and the constant threat of a greedy villain.
• A Villain in Disguise: After escaping the clutches of the dastardly Count Olaf, the children find themselves in the home of a kindly herpetologist. But danger has a way of finding them, even in the Reptile Room.
• Witty and Humorous Story: Discover why readers love Lemony Snicket's uproariously unhappy tale, where clever wordplay and hilarious observations make even the most miserable moments enchanting.
• Unforgettable Sibling Trio: With Violet's inventions, Klaus's research, and Sunny's sharp teeth, the resourceful Baudelaire children must rely on each other to uncover the truth and survive.
