Fritz Leiber (1910-1992) was an American writer whose work helped shape modern science fiction and fantasy. Known for his versatility and imagination, Leiber created the influential Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser sword-and-sorcery series while also producing acclaimed science fiction novels such as The Big Time and The Green Millennium. Over his long career he received numerous honors, including Hugo, Nebula, and World Fantasy Awards, and is widely regarded as one of the most important writers in twentieth-century speculative fiction.
