Ein junger Restaurator wird mit der Restauration der Sandstein-Figurengruppe der Klugen und Törichten Jungfrauen im Lübecker St. Annenmuseum beauftragt. Sie gehörte einst zur Ausstattung der Burgkirche, die 1818 abgerissen wurde. Doch seither fehlt eine der Figuren. Was ist aus ihr geworden? Der Restaurator verliebt sich in die anmutigen Törichten.
