Let Each Holiday Point You to Jesus
The holidays arrive throughout the year, but do they leave you closer to Jesus? In Holidays with Jesus, author and Bible teacher Peter DeHaan takes readers through twenty celebrations, from New Year's Day to Christmas, from Valentine's Day to Halloween, and even your own birthday, revealing how every holiday can become a meaningful encounter with the Savior.
With two Scripture-grounded devotions for each holiday, 40 readings in all, this book gives you the flexibility to spread your reading across two years or dive straight through at your own pace.
Each devotion opens a fresh conversation between the holiday and the life of Jesus. You will discover that Saint Patrick was a missionary whose three-decade ministry obeyed the Great Commission.
You will learn that Ash Wednesday and Lent carry a spiritual depth that goes far beyond giving something up. You will see that Good Friday and Easter belong together, that Independence Day can remind you of freedom from sin, and that Pentecost changed everything for every believer who came after. Reflective questions and personal prayers close each reading, making the content immediately practical for daily life.
Whether you are a lifelong follower of Jesus looking to deepen your holiday traditions or someone who has drifted from faith and is searching for a way back, this devotional meets you right where you are.
Peter DeHaan writes with warmth, honesty, and a willingness to ask the hard questions, because celebrating the holidays with Jesus is not just a seasonal activity. It's a way of life.
