Studio Ghibli is a Tokyo-based animation film studio founded in 1985 by directors Isao Takahata and Hayao Miyazaki. The studio has produced more than twenty feature-length films, many of which have garnered numerous awards and critical acclaim, including My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’ s Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Howl’ s Moving Castle. Seven of Studio Ghibli’ s films received Academy Award® nominations for Best Animated Feature, with two wins. The Boy and the Heron was awarded the Golden Globe, BAFTA, and the Academy Award® for Best Animated Feature in 2024. The studio received the Honorary Palme d’ Or at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
